Raymond Ragnaud XXO is a limited edition of 350 bottles that comes presented in a superb wooden box. It features a noble royal blue label, with each bottle numbered. This Extraordinary Cognac is a blend of two eaux-de-vie with distinctive personalities, both from the excellent 2003 vintage: a powerful, racy eau-de-vie made from the ugni blanc grape variety, and a fine, elegant folle blanche eau-de-vie. A happy marriage to delight even the most demanding taste buds. Behind its amber color lies a sophisticated nose revealing a complex, breathtaking aromatic palette. Intoxicating scents of orange peel and orange blossom reach us, accompanied by subtle notes of poached pears and candied plums, in a beautiful floral and fruity ensemble. The nose also reveals discreet notes of rancio, candied fruit, vanilla and oriental spices. The palate boasts fine volume with well-melted alcohol. Thanks to the harmony between warmth and tannic structure, the texture is very soft. The fruitiness takes pride of place, with aromas reminiscent of pear, ripe plums and apricots, and fig jam. Candied citrus fruit and a hint of roasted hazelnuts can be detected in the background. It finishes on a long note of bitter chocolate, pepper and spices. A marvelous example of Grande Champagne intense and powerful, endowed with a long finish of immense subtlety.
