Lhéraud Bons bois 1967 - Vintage Cognac
LhéraudDescription
This marvelous eau-de-vie comes to us in the classic bottle of Cognacs Lheraud, a copy of an 18th-century bottle. With a deep mahogany color and amber highlights, it displays the ripeness of the natural oxidation of Cognacs aged for long decades. Tasting reveals a succession of aromatic layers: first fruity, with apricot Secs and overripe plums, followed by a touch of freshness, with floral and eucalyptus notes and fine rancio. All anchored in a structure of strong personality with empyreumatic notes evoking wood fire, as well as earthy and leathery notes. Remarkably complex. A fatty, oily texture accompanies the tasting on the palate. Aromatically, rancio is delicately present, accompanied by hints of fruit Secs. Notes of orange peel add a touch of freshness. Beautiful tannic architecture gives it strength and vigor, with a long, generous finish on herbaceous and spicy notes. A complex personality strong in its origins, a wonderful Cognac with a strong character.
