Description

The COVID-19 Antibody Check allows you to test from home whether you have been infected with the COVID-19 virus or not. Important: The COVID-19 Antibody Check is not a rapid test. The blood sample you take at home will be sent by mail to a Swissmedic certified laboratory in Switzerland - without additional expenses for you. This laboratory will carry out an IgG antibody test in the blood. The test is not suitable for the detection of an acute infection and only tests for antibodies that are detectable about 2 weeks after the onset of corona symptoms and about 4 weeks after infection with the virus. What exactly is tested? The COVID-19 Antibody Check from Home Sampling is used to detect IgG antibodies in the blood. If these are present in the blood, it can be assumed that the person tested was infected with COVID-19. Please note that for all viral infections, 5-10% of the population do not produce antibodies after undergoing infection or vaccination. This also applies to COVID-19. For whom is the COVID-19 laboratory test suitable? Important: The Corona IgG antibody test cannot detect acute infection and is not intended for diagnosing people who are currently ill. It can provide reliable results at the earliest two weeks after the onset of symptoms and at the earliest four weeks after a suspected infection. In some cases, IgG antibodies can only be detected after seven weeks. The COVID-19 IgG antibody analysis performed by the laboratory is therefore suitable for persons who suspect a previous infection but who have not been tested positive for the virus by PCR pathogen detection. Can I detect an acute disease with the test? No! The COVID-19 Antibody Check is not a PCR test for the detection of virus components and a fresh infection and current disease. How safe is the COVID-19 Antibody Check? * The sensitivity of the IgG antibody test is over 99.5%. This describes the number of tested, actually sick persons in whom the disease is detected. In other words, how many people with an infection are recognised as having an infection. * The specificity of the Home Sampling test is 100% - after at least 14 days once the symptoms have subsided. This describes how reliably the test detects healthy persons as healthy, non-infected persons. In other words, how many people without infection are detected as people without infection. How do I use the test? The Home Sampling test kit is delivered to your home by Amorana, where you take a drop of your blood on your finger according to the instructions included in the kit. Find here the instructions for capillary blood collection: https:www.homesampling.chkapillare-blutentnahme You send this sample, also following the instructions, with the included addressed and already franked envelope to a Swissmedic certified laboratory in Switzerland. This laboratory will carry out the blood analysis and inform you of the test result. You will receive the results of the IgG antibody test within one working day when your sample arrives at the laboratory. Please take the blood sample only between Monday and Thursday and not immediately before or during the weekend. Then send the fresh sample by Swiss Post on the same day (between Monday and Thursday) and get the results within one working day. The results will be sent to you by e-mail. It is therefore important that you enter your e-mail address in the field provided on the order form. The contents of the test, the pre-addressed and pre-stamped return envelope and the laboratory examination are included in the price of the COVID19 Antibody Check. This means, for you there are no additional costs. Please also note that no health insurance receipt is issued for the laboratory test. What do I have to consider? In some cases the IgG antibodies can only be detected after 7 weeks. It should also be noted that the IgG antibody test (COVID-19 Antibody Check) from Home Sampling is not a rapid test, but a laboratory test, whereby the analysis is carried out by a Swissmedic certified laboratory in Switzerland. In order to be tested, you must therefore send your test sample to the laboratory with the enclosed return envelope in accordance with the instructions. Antibodies after vaccination The antibodies which are formed in the course of a SARS-CoV-2 vaccination are also detected by the antibody test. This means that the test turns out to be positive. It is not possible to distinguish whether the antibody is due to the vaccination or to an effective infection, because they are identical. It is important not to test too soon after the SECOND vaccination, wait at least 6-8 weeks. Please note that regardless of the result of the test, you must comply with federal hygiene regulations. Please also note that for safety and hygiene reasons the COVID-19 test cannot be returned or exchanged. - COVID-19 Antibody Check kit for home use - Analysis of the test is carried out by a Swissmedic certified laboratory in Swi
