Description
Clos du Mesnil comes from a single parcel of 1.84 hectares, surrounded by protective walls since 1698. The vines are located in the heart of Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most emblematic Chardonnay villages on the Côte des blancs. 2008 was one of the coldest years in 14 years, favoring slow, steady ripening of the grapes. Thanks to these climatic conditions, the harvest produced grapes of intense freshness and elegant expression, giving rise to beautifully structured wines. "This is a powerful, sensual and intense Blanc de blancs, with lots of chalk, lemon, apricot stone, walnut, flint, cookie, toast, white grapefruit and quince. Lively, closed and structured. Its bubbles are tight, with pronounced acidity. Very long and persistent." James Suckling - 2022 Rating 99/100 The elegant minerality of this wine combined with tangy notes makes it ideal for pairing with langoustine carpaccio, scallops marinated in dill or a lobster salad with citrus.
